Ditch Toxic Cleaners and Save on Healthy Alternatives

Have you taken stock of the household chemicals you use lately? If not, I suggest you take a few minutes to do so. Here’s why……

It’s common these days to rely on an array of toxic chemicals to keep our homes clean and sanitized. However, growing concerns about the impact of these chemicals have led many to search for healthier alternatives.

One possible solution I have stumbled upon is Norwex.

Norwex is a Norwegian company established in 1994 with a mission. That mission is to improve quality of life by radically reducing chemicals in our homes.

I was introduced to the company back in 2015. The butter demo is what hooked me. Watch the video below to see what you think. I even used these products during Covid with no issues.

Let’s explore my journey from toxic chemical usage to adopting eco-friendly alternatives, and how they have contributed to a healthier lifestyle for me and my family.

The Dark Side of Household Chemicals:

Back in 2015 when I was first introduced to Norwex, I suddenly became aware of how traditional household cleaners weren’t as great as I once thought they were. Prior to this I had never really given it much thought. I wanted a clean house, so I used chemical cleaners because I thought that was the only way it was done successfully. Sound familiar?

During my transition from chemicals to Norwex, I began noticing that traditional cleaners were inferior in performance as well as impacting my family’s overall health and well-being in a negative way. So, I started doing some research and I was not a fan of what I found.

First off, I wasn’t using some of these cleaning products correctly like demonstrated in the previous video. Second, I realized that continued use of these products would cost me more money, time, and quite possibly the health of me and my family.

Traditional chemicals cleaners can release something called volatile organic compounds or VOCs into the air we breathe. This pollutes our homes and leads to respiratory issues, allergies, and even long-term health issues. Additionally, when these chemicals are washed down our drains, they can contaminate water sources and harm aquatic life.

Did you know one of the most toxic chemicals in your home is dryer sheets? Not only are they toxic but we use them every day on the clothes that we wear all day every day, so we are exposed non-stop. Not to worry, Norwex has solutions!

Enter Norwex: A Safer Alternative:

Norwex is a company dedicated to providing effective cleaning solutions without the need for excessive chemicals. Their range of innovative products utilizes superior microfiber and something called BACLOCK technology that is explained in the next video.

Their microfiber harnesses the power of tiny fibers to effectively clean surfaces using only water. I know that sounds crazy. I was a sceptic too when I first heard of Norwex back in 2015 but hear me out and then decide for yourself.

Norwex microfiber cloths are designed to trap and remove bacteria, dirt, and dust without the need for additional cleaning agents. They remove up to 99% of bacteria when used and cared for properly using only the cloth and water.

Benefits of Norwex:

Reduced Chemical Exposure: By using healthier alternatives like Norwex, you can significantly reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals, making your home a safer environment for you, your family, and your pets. With Norwex, you can achieve a clean and hygienic home using just microfiber and water, minimizing the risk of chemical-related health issues.

Environmental Sustainability: Norwex’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond its products. By reducing overall chemical usage, you actively contribute to the preservation of the environment. Additionally, Norwex products are designed to be long-lasting and durable, reducing waste and the need for constant repurchasing.

FYI, Norwex also has a recycle program so when your microfiber needs to be replaced you just send it into the company for them to recycle. Just for reference, I have been using some of my microfiber since 2015 and it’s still going strong.

Cost-Effective: While some may argue that eco-friendly alternatives are expensive, Norwex products can actually save you money in the long run. By eliminating the need for multiple cleaning agents, you can cut down on your cleaning supply expenses.

Since incorporating Norwex products into my life I have completely stopped buying things like glass cleaner, dryer sheets, sanitizing wipes, and disposable dusters and mop pads. These items can really add up as they are all consumable products that you have to buy over and over again. I have also significantly reduced the use of paper towels in my home after adding Norwex to my life. I never did the exact math, but I buy Norwex products once and use them for years to come. Each household is different but consider your current cost on consumable cleaners to determine if Norwex is right for you.

Embracing a Healthier Lifestyle:

Making the switch to Norwex and other eco-friendly alternatives is one small step my family has made towards embracing a healthier lifestyle.

You can do the same by reducing exposure to unnecessary chemicals and choosing sustainable options that exemplify a commitment to preserving the planet for future generations.

At this point you may have some questions for me. I plan to do a follow up post answering some commonly asked questions but the question I get the most is about how to launder your microfiber once you make the switch. The video below explains that process in detail. Check it out!

Norwex offers a range of effective and eco-friendly products that empower you to clean your home without compromising on cleanliness or health.
