Your Holiday Reset Made Simple

Your Holiday Reset Made Simple

Whether we like it or not, the holidays are coming and with them, the endless gatherings, travel, treats, and to-do lists that make it so easy to say, “I’ll start over in January” when it comes to our healthy habits.

But what if this year could be different?

What if, instead of starting over, you simplified with three small, doable habits that help you feel good now and set you up for success in the new year?

Let’s talk about how to make that happen with my 3 W approach. To listen to the podcast you can tune in here.

The “All-or-Nothing” Trap

If you’ve ever felt like you’re either “all in” or “all out” with your health habits, you’re not alone.
That all-or-nothing mindset is one of the biggest reasons we lose consistency, especially during the holidays.

We tell ourselves that if we can’t do it perfectly, we might as well not do anything at all. But progress doesn’t require perfection. It just requires that you show up, in some small way, each and every day.

So instead of trying to overhaul your entire life in one big swoop, let’s simplify things. For the next 2 months focus on workouts, water, and whole foods and these 3 foundational habits will carry you through the season and beyond.

💪 Workouts Are Self-Care

The first W is all about workouts. First off, let’s reframe the definition of a workout this season. A workout is any extra movement in your day and everything counts.

And let’s stop making workouts about “burning off” holiday calories or some sort of punishment. They are no such thing. Workouts from here on out are about boosting your mood, destressing, clearing brain fog, and supporting hormone balance.

Movement is medicine. It doesn’t have to be long or intense to make a difference, especially if the alternative is no workout at all. Even a 20-minute walk, a short strength session, or some stretching counts.

Key Takeaway: Something is always better than nothing. Every bit of movement matters.

💧 Water: The Simplest Daily Reset

Water is our 2nd W. Hydration is one of the easiest ways to reset your body each day and yet it’s one of the first habits we let slip when life gets busy.

When you’re hydrated, you have:
✅ More energy
✅ Fewer cravings
✅ Better digestion
✅ Improved focus and mood

So, let’s aim for half your body weight in ounces each day, and consider every sip a small act of self-care. Set timers on your phone, link taking a sip to other habits you do throughout the day such as each time you check your phone you take a sip, and set goals for morning, lunchtime, and dinner time so you are sure to reach your goal.

(If you’re one of my current clients, you can track your workouts, water, and whole foods inside your app! And if your following along on your own, you can grab a free printable tracker here.

🥗 Whole Foods, Not “Perfect” Foods

The last of the 3 W’s is Whole food.

The holidays are full of indulgence and that’s okay.

The goal isn’t to avoid your holiday favorites. It’s to anchor your day in real, nourishing foods first then sprinkle your favorites in when appropriate.

When you prioritize lean protein, fiber, and colorful fruits and veggies, you stay full longer, keep your blood sugar steady, and feed the muscles and metabolism that support you through midlife and beyond.

When your plate is filled with foods that fuel you, you naturally crowd out the things that drain you without all the feelings of deprivation, restriction or guilt.

Then, when you do indulge, it’s intentional, mindful, and balanced.

💤 Don’t Forget Mindset, Sleep, Rest and Hormones

You’ve got to start somewhere, and the 3 W’s will set you up for success but if you are just starting out you may want to take a look at your mindset, sleep, and hormone balance first. Here’s where so many women get stuck. They try to overhaul everything all at once and get overwhelmed and burnt out.

It’s okay to slow down.
It’s okay to rest and reset.
It’s okay to take care of YOU!

You can’t outwork, out-supplement, or out-diet your stress and exhaustion.

That’s why it’s time to focus on simplifying. That’s exactly what I teach inside my 21 Day Reset.
We keep it real, simple, and manageable using the 3 W’s as our foundation while building habits that work with your lifestyle and hormones, not against them.

Consistency doesn’t mean doing everything right.
It means doing something right every day, even if that something looks different from one day to the next. To help you keep track I included these on the daily tracker as well. Find it here.
